Verticalhas acquired the North American rights to the sci-fi thriller Last Sentinel. Directed by Oscar nomninee Tanel Toom, the feature is headlined by Kate Bosworth. Recently seen in The Locksmith, Bosworth’s credits include The Enforcer, Along for the Ride, and Superman Returns.
Seriously Red marks actress Krew Boylan’s debut as a screenwriter. Boylan also is the lead, playing a Dolly Parton tribute performer named Red. Boylan talked to Deepest Dream about her ambitious and entertaining feature, which is now out in theaters and PVOD (premium video on demand).
Penned and directed by Corey Deshon, Daughter is a slow build and immersive thriller about a young woman (Vivien Ngô) who is abducted and forced to live with a family. She is the surrogate “daughter,” and to survive she must bend to the whims of father (Casper Van Dien), mother (Elyse Dinh), and brother (Ian Alexander). Shot on 16mm with a micro-budget, this first rate feature comes out Friday in Theaters, Digital and On Demand. Deshon, Ngô (who also produced) and Dinh talked to us about the joys and challenges of making Daughter.
Ready for a knockout release this month? Rocky I-IV 4K 4-Film Collection comes out February 28 via an Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack. The movies are newly remastered. I have not checked out Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago (included in the set), and I am looking forward to this release.
Ryan Phillippe is the lead in The Locksmith, a first rate crime thriller about an ex-con named Miller (Phillippe) who is trying to get his life in order. Just released from prison, Miller is roped back into the crime world after a person from his past (Gabriela Quezada) asks for a very big favor. Phillippe talked to Deepest Dream about his latest feature, which co-stars Kate Bosworth and Ving Rhames.

Directed by Zach Heinzerling, who received an Oscar nod for his 2013 documentary Cutie and the Boxer, directs.
