‘Clover’ Review: Knockout Storytelling And Stellar Ensemble Propel Comedic Crime Flick
From the moment Clover hits the screen you may give the requisite eye roll, believing this is another “homage” to a Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. In fairness, those filmmakers had their own heroes (both love director Samuel Fuller’s work). Unless you’ve existed since the first days of cinema, originality is hard to come by. More importantly, Clover is a first rate feature that surpassed my expectations.

‘Banana Split’ Review: Everlasting Bonds And Laughter Take Precedence In Subversive Comedy

At their worst, teen comedies may exist as a trifling waste of times. Filled with sophomoric jokes and peddling flesh and fantasy over a decent narrative, the genre is often ignored when one things of “cinema.” Banana Split, however, is a great addition to that universe, and this deliciously entertaining and subversive comedy should not be left in the cold.
Flick City Episode 6: Blow The Man Down (Morgan Saylor, Sophie Lowe) & Banana Split (Addison Riecke)
Episode 6 features two films I highly recommended. One is a Maine set film noir (Blow The Man Down) and the other is a teen romance comedy (Banana Split) that is blessed with a solid ensemble and strong screenplay.
Blow The Man Down actresses Morgan Saylor shares her thoughts on Jim Jarmusch’s Night On Earth and co-star Sophie Lowe’s movie pick is Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. Banana Split actress Addison Riecke’s favorite film is Fantastic Mr. Fox. My Q&A with Riecke, along with details on my latest Digital Code giveaway, is up on Deepest Dream.
Banana Split hits Digital and On Demand March 27 and Blow The Man Down is now streaming on Prime Video. Thanks for your support and remember to rate/comment our podcast!!

#42 I’ve Got a Movie to Make: A New Script in the Works (Week 42 of 116)
Didn’t take long for not one, but two new ideas to come to me. More busy than ever, but the one that I’m running with has got my full attention and I have no choice but to obsess about it until it’s done. Haven’t felt this way for a long time and it feels great. Sacrifices need to be made though and sleep is the first to get cut.
