Three-time Emmy Award nominee Elizabeth Banks toplines “A Mistake,” a medical drama that is based on the bestselling novel by Carl Shuker. Elizabeth Banks stars as Liz Taylor, a surgeon whose split second decision is being questioned by the powers that be.
“A Mistake” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Quiver Distribution has acquired the North American rights to the feature. Christine Jeffs, the filmmaker behind “Sunshine Cleaning” and “Rain,” is the feature’s director and co-writer (novelist Carl Shuker is also credited).
Rena Owen (“Once Were Warriors”), Mickey Sumner (“Snowpiercer”) and Simon McBurney (“Carnival Row”) round out the ensemble. The movie has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 100% (based on six reviews).
CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes sent me a DVD of “Rain” several years ago and I was slated to review that movie with him and Bruce Purkey. I will get around to seeing “Rain” before “A Mistake” (my apologies to the co-hosts for not doing my job!).
Catch “A Mistake” in theaters September 20th. Let us know if you will be seeing this Elizabeth Banks feature!! Check out the trailer below:
