Arielle Kebbel and Sophie Skelton Talk “Memories and Experiences” of ‘I Can Only Imagine 2’

I Can Only Imagine 2 hits theaters February 20, and co-stars Arielle Kebbel and Sophie Skelton talked to Deepest Dream about the feature. The interview is just several minutes, but Skelton was able to talk about how playing Shannon Street impacted her life. Kebbel also elaborated on seeing the first hand impact of I Can Only Imagine. “I feel like I definitely learned a lot from Shannon,” said Sophie Skelton. “The way she handles (life) even when the world is crumbling around her and from within her home. She manages to keep her cool and handle it with such grace and keep the kids protected and everyone joyous. They have such resilience and such grace. It really impacted me. I felt like I could learn a lot from that.”

Arielle Kebbel was talking to a driver on her way to a Nashville dinner when he starting sobbing and discussed how the movie impacted his life. Kebbel videotaped the experience and shared it with directors Andrew Erwin and Brent McKorkle.

“It really gave me perspective of people (having) deep, personal attachments and memories and experiences to this movie,” said Kebbel. “And so I think that now that we’re expanding the universe and adding Tim Timmons and Hilary (Beth Timmons), and all these new storylines . . . I can only imagine how it’s going to affect people.”

Hitting theaters February 20, I Can Only Imagine 2 stars John Michael Finley as MercyMe’s Bart Millard, Milo Ventimiglia as Tim Timmons and Sammy Dell as Bart’s son Sam.
