Directed by Steven Feinartz, Are We Good? is an insightful look at podcaster/comedian Marc Maron’s career and life. A healthy portion of the documentary details Maron’s grief over girlfriend Lynn Shelton’s death. Are We Good? gives viewers an uncompromising look at Maron as he understandably struggles with how to incorporate Shelton into his stand-up act. The film was roundly recommended by all of us on the latest CinemAddicts – check out Bruce Purkey’s video review below!

“This is not a by the numbers documentary,” said Bruce Purkey. “It doesn’t start in the early days and work its way slowly to where he is at right now. This is more (focused) on a certain time with sprinkling history to get some overall perspective on who is and what’ he’s done.”

Listen to our CinemAddicts podcast review of Are We Good?:

“It’s everything you either love or don’t love about Mark Maron,” added Purkey. “I really quite like Mark Maron. So for me, this is just a perfect version of the documentary one would want.”

Interviewees on the documentary include Nate Bargatze, John Mulaney, David Cross, Michaela Watkins, Laurie Kilmartin, Sam Lipsyte, and Brendan McDonald. Previous podcast footage of Maron’s interviews with Patton Oswalt, Andrew Garfield and President Barack Obama are also featured.
