Morning everyone! I thought I uploaded the Flick City episode on the CinemAddicts feed on Friday, but I forgot the audio! Nevertheless, a couple of days later and several dollars short, I have my Sound of Metal interviews available for your lovely ears. It’s one of this year’s best films, so take a listen!
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Sound of Metalcenters on Ruben (Riz Ahmed), a punk metal drummer who is suffering hearing loss. HIs days of touring with his girlfriend/bandmate Lou (Olivia Cooke) is put on hold, as he enters a sober house for the deaf. Welcomed into a new community, Ruben is torn between two worlds, and though he has found a semblance of peace in his new environment, he struggles to find a path for his future.
Directed by Darius Marder (who co-wrote the script with brother Abraham Marder), Sound of Metal is one of this year’s finest films. An evocative and incisive look at our fragile yet ever exploring humanity, the feature should receive its share of awards love.
