Hanks’ collaboration with Spielberg includes the features “Saving Private Ryan,” “The Terminal” and “Catch Me If You Can,” and Newman scored the 2013 feature “Saving Mr. Banks.”
“Bridge of Spies” centers on James Donovan (Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who, during the Cold War era, is hired by the CIA to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. The movie, penned by Ethan Coen, Joel Coen, and Matt Charman, opens nationwide October 16, 2015. Amy Ryan, Mark Rylance, and Alan Alda co-star.
Newman, a 12-time Oscar nominee, recently scored “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”
