Shudder will re-release “The Devil’s Bath” in select theaters starting November 13. Select in-person Q&As with directors Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala are also scheduled. See full details below!

“The Devil’s Bath” – Shudder

Set in 1750 Austria, a religious woman named Agnes (Anja Plaschg) who is growing weary of her list of chores and expectations from the local villagers. Her frustations eventually lead to evil thoughts, and she believes violence may be a way out of her torment.

“The Devil’s Bath” is reportedly based on historical court records, and the film’s narrative is pretty shocking. The re-release spotlights its honor of being Austria’s Selection for the Academy Awards (Best International Feature Film).

The picture was named Best Feature Film at this year’s Sitges Film Festival and the Austrian Film Awards. “The Devil’s Bath” also won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.
