Studio Ghibli Classic ‘Spirited Away’ Collector’s Edition Hits Blu-ray In November

Hayao Miyazaki’s classic animated feature Spirited Away will receive a collector’s edition release on November 12 via Shout! Factory, Studio Ghibli and GKIDS. Details on the limited edition Blu-ray release are featured below.

 

Released in 2001, Spirited Away won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Daveigh Chase (as the young girl “Chihiro”), Suzanne Pleshette, Michael Chiklis, Susan Egan and David Ogden Stiers were among the voice talent (in the American version) featured in the film. 



The storyline centers on Chihiro’s attempts to free her parents and return back to normal life after she travels to a fantastical world that is ruled by a sorceress named Yubaba (Pleshette). The set can be pre-ordered at ghiblicollection.com

The limited edition release comes with a 40-page book with art and essays from critics Kenneth Turan and Leonard Maltin and the film’s CD soundtrack. Special features include:
