Scarlett Johansson Talks “Fever Dream” Of ‘Black Widow’ Experience At Comic-Con

It’s taken a healthy spell for Black Widow to get off the ground, and thanks to Scarlett Johansson, director Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome) and, of course, Marvel, that reality was on display at San Diego’s Comic-Con.

Black Widow’s events, timeline wise, takes place shortly after Captain America: Civil War and obviously before Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) life changing decision in Avengers: Endgame.

For Johansson, who’s over 30 days into shooting Black Widow, sharing that experience at Comic-Con is not to be taken for granted.

“It is so exciting,” said Johansson. “It’s very, very surreal. I never could have imagined 10 years ago that I’d be presenting footage at Hall H of this standalone movie. It’s like a dream come true. But we’re still in the middle of making it so it feels like a weird fever dream (that) I’m currently having (laughs). It’s crazy.”

Black Widow, co-starring Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, is set for a May 1, 2020 release.
