“The Colors Within” centers on Totsuko (Sayu Suzukawa), a high school student who has the ability to see the “colors” of individuals. Her classmate Kimi (Akari Takaishi) radiates a beautiful color and Rui (Taisei Kido) is a music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore.

Bruce Purkey enjoyed the relative simplicity of the anime, which mainly focuses on the relationship among the three friends and he added that it was “refreshing” to watch a “super grounded” anime.
