In a little over two weeks we will witness Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, and a new poster has arrived for the highly anticipated film. Cregger crafted two excellent horror-thrillers (Weapons, Barbarian), so the expectations for Resident Evil are through the roof. Weapons co-star Austin Abrams leads the way in this survival horror tale, and in the latest poster he is understandably frightened under a landline. Check out the poster and share your thoughts!

Along with Austin Abrams, Resident Evil co-stars Paul Walter Hauser, Kali Reis, Johno Wilson and Zach Cherry. Filmmaker Zach Cregger co-wrote the film with Shay Hatten, the screenwriter behind last year’s Ballerina and the 2023 release John Wick: Chapter 4.
Cregger’s Weapons was both a critical and commercial hit, with Amy Madigan receive a Supporting Actress Oscar for her work. Budgeted at $38 million, the picture amassed over $270 million at the box-office. Considering the Resident Evil franchise is successful movie and video game franchise, and Cregger’s creative momentum only enhances the film’s favorable box-office prospects. The official trailer, released last month, has garnered over 10 million views on YouTube:
Resident Evil centers on Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who is having a horrible night thanks to the flesh hungry undead. Cregger has utilized the element surprise in Weapons and Barbarian. It will be interesting to see if that aesthetic continues within Resident Evil’s universe.
The movie hits theaters September 18 via TriStar Pictures, Constantin Film and Davis Films. Will you be watching Resident Evil opening weekend?
