Natasha Blaine takes on fellow Team Legend member Syd Millevoi on tonight’s The Voice: Battle of Champions for the Knockouts. During the interview, Blaine talked about how jazz, which she studied at Vanderbilt University, has shaped her artistry. She also talked about her flourishing music career and how it’s important to be your own “biggest fan.” Check out the full interview below!

“Pursuing a career in music is extremely hard to do if you don’t have that core belief in your own value,” said Natasha Blaine, who admitted that ‘trial and error’ is part of solidifying that self-belief. “At the end of the day, you are the one who’s deciding to put yourself out there and create more music. “It’s great if other people valiidate that, but at the end of the day, it’s most important for that validation to come from within.”

Blaine elaborated on what she learned from The Voice: Battle of Champions. “The experience taught me so many things,” said Blaine. “But I think the main takeaway was how unique and specific my identity as an artist is. And it really showed, I think, throughout the different performances that I performed. I have a very unique and specific vision for who I am as an artist. This experience showed me that what I have is a really specific niche of music which is totally marketable and opeople are responding to it.”
