Twin sisters Malika Haqq and Khadijah Haqq McCray have been close friends with the Kardashian family for almost 17 years (Malika and Khloé Kardashian are best friends), and their upcoming series DASH Dolls will center on the sisters’ high profile job of overseeing the Kardashian line.

During the interview I asked the sisters if their natural ease with the camera came at an early age.

“I think our background with acting and being in front of the cameras has definitely helped us as far as reality (television) goes,” says Malika, who starred with her sibling in the films Sky High and ATL. “And this magnitude of exposure. Because it is quite different. Being an actor, you’re normally playing a character and often people don’t know you by first name but doing reality television has for sure shined a light. You could walk through a grocery store and someone can yell ‘Malika’ and often I think it’s someone I know and it’s not.”

The sisters also added that the camera is their friend, and along with their upcoming series, they also plan a return to film work.

“We want to get back to acting,” adds Khadijah. “But the reality (series) has shined a light that we are actually enjoying right now.”
