Jason Ralph, Olivia Taylor Dudley, & Stella Maeve On The Magicians’ Enriching Journey

Season two of the Syfy drama The Magicians is upon us, and last week I asked cast members Jason Ralph, Olivia Taylor Dudley, and Stella Maeve about their respective journeys on the show. The video is available after the jump!

Since the show is based on Lev Grossman’s bestselling novels, The Magicians is a show that thankfully has a ton of ground to cover. Such a prospect isn’t lost on the actors. “We’re really lucky to work w/ this material,” says Olivia Taylor Dudley

For Stella Maeve, the actual process of shooting The Magicians also enhances her personal life:  “Every day is a new opportunity and you wake up as this person and you go in and continue to live this pseudo life as this other human being. It makes you grow and learn a lot (as a person). Connecting those two very different ideas together, I think it’s beneficial for life.”

Jason Ralph feels protective over Grossman’s work, as he was a fan of the novels before embarking on the project.  “Coming to set every day is an opportunity to bring to life this thing we love and then to be inspired by the new journeys we get to go on,” says Ralph.

Check out the video below as Dudley, Ralph, and Maeve talk about the gratification they receive from working on The Magicians. (Apologies for the fellow reporter who’s in the final moments of the shot!!)

Season two of The Magicians returns to SyFy Wednesday, January 25 (9/8c).
