Heath Ledger Film ‘Candy’ Makes Blu-Ray Debut In December

Candy, a 2006 feature starring Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain), Abbie Cornish (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), and Geoffrey Rush (Shine), makes its Blu-ray debut December 3rd via Shout! Factory.

The narrative centers on Dan (Heath Ledger), a poet who becomes enamored with the titular character (Abbie Cornish), a student who is attracted to his bohemian existence. Their bond, borne out of passion, is also threatened by their addiction to heroin. The picture, directed by Neil Armfield (who adapted the feature from the Luke Davies novel), also stars Geoffrey Rush as Dan’s mentor and drug supplier. The release is part of the Shout! Select collection and it the Blu-ray is now available for pre-order.



Candy Blu-ray extras include: audio commentary from Armfield and Davies, two featurettes (“Candy: The Path to Wild Abandon” and “Writing on the Wall – Candy’s Poem in Motion”) and the theatrical trailer.
