David Duchovny is already an established actor, so though he fits into the sunshine noir of Aquariusit’s also great to see relative newcomers Grey Damon and Claire Holt shine in their respective roles.

“I think with jobs that you have a passion for,” says Damon. “You can sometimes be lucky enough to lock into something in yourself and reveal that in a very vulnerable, but real and charismatic way.”

For Damon,  part of his acting journey has been going on his share of auditions and, more importantly, honing his craft. Thus, when an opportunity like Aquarius called out his name, he was willing and able.

“There’s so many things that come into play and I think that’s something we’ve both learned,” adds Holt. “It just not the best actor and there are many reasons that people get jobs, and so I think that we’ve been lucky enough to book this one and we’re holding on to it for dear life.”

If you haven’t binge-watched the series (all of the eps are online), a new episode of Aquarius airs July 18 on NBC (9 pm et/pt).
