If you are in the mood for an old school World War II action-thriller, “Murder Company” should be up your alley. Gilles Marini stars as Daquin, a French resistance fighter who is tasked with killing an important SS officer. William Moseley, Joe Anderson, Jilon VanOver, Ian Niles and Pooch Hall are the soldiers who accompany Daquin in his deadly mission. Marini talked to Deepest Dream about how a personal connection brought an extra layer of resonance to “Murder Company.”

“It was just amazing for me to get this role,” said Gilles Marini, who starred in the popular TV series ‘Brothers & Sisters.’ “It was very personal (and) was more a homage to my grandmother because she was really involved with the Second World War. She did the job of ten men. So (making “Murder Company” was) a no brainer. It sounds weird, but my character is completely based on a woman of my family.”

“Murder Company” shares a similar DNA to those great Samuel Fuller movies (“The Steel Helmet,” “Fixed Bayonets!”) and the Robert Aldrich’s “The Dirty Dozen.” Kelsey Grammer co-stars as the war weary official who understand’s the mission’s dangers.
