Flick City: Rhyon Nicole Brown Inspired By Humanity Behind ‘Cinema Paradiso’

Actress Rhyon Nicole Brown (Empire, Surviving Compton) stars with Gary Oldman and Jessica Alba in Killers Anonymous. During our chat she talked about her love for Cinema Paradiso. Audio and transcript of her Cinema Paradiso thoughts are below!

“I would say one of my favorite movies of all time is Cinema Paradiso. The reason that inspires me so deeply is I think I can move forward in a world of entertainment where we are so heavily technology based. The very threads of that movie was this relationship between this old man and this little boy.
Really, in life, nothing is really worth it unless you have strong grounded relationships. When you watch a movie, no matter how technologically savvy it is,, (what) keeps people truly interested and truly coming back to the movie and learning things from the movie are these incredible relationships that we make come to life off the page.
I think it always reminds me, moving forward, to really get to know the characters. Because at the end of the day when people are coming to see anything that I do, I’m speaking to someone. And I hope that whenever I’m representing someone on screen, that I’m speaking a truth.” – Rhyon Nicole Brown
