IFC Films has acquired the North American rights to “Armand,” a feature that was the first ever Norwegian recipient of the Camera d’Or Award. Renate Reinsve stars in the feature which was written and directed by Halfdan Ullmann Tømde.

“Armand” centers on Elisabeth (Renate Reinsve), an actress who is called into a parent-teacher meeting where she is presented with troublesome allegations. Elisabeth attempts to uncover the truth.

“Halfdan’s debut feature showcases the type of innovative and invigorating directing that is synonymous with IFC Films and our ongoing support of burgeoning auteurs. With a phenomenal performance from Renate at its core, we can’t wait to introduce ARMAND to audiences stateside,” said Head of AMC Networks’ Film Group Scott Shooman.

“I am so excited to bring Armand out to the North American audience, and hope that the film can create conversations and feelings for everyone watching it. I am very happy to have IFC Films as a partner in this, and look forward to begin our journey together with this film,” said Director Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel.

Reinsve, best known for her star making performance in “The Worst Person in the World,” was recently seen in the horror/mystery “Handling The Undead.”
