Three Minutes: A Lengthening, directed by Bianca Stigter, focuses on the Jewish inhabitants of Nasielsk, Poland in 1938. Shot by David Kurtz in 1938, the footage features what maybe the only moving images from these individuals before the Holocaust. Writer/director Ryan David’s latest movie Futra Dayshas its in-person premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival on Saturday, August 20. David describes his sci-fi/relationship drama as a “heady.” It is also an immersive tale that may confound viewers or grab them hook, line, and sinker. I am a Futra Days fan, so it was a pleasure to learn more about David’s creative process behind his movie.
