Behind The Lens #31 – Two Step, The Look Like People, & Carol Nguyen

On this week’s Behind The Lens, debbie lynn elias and I interviewed Two Step director Alex R. Johnson as he talked about how shooting in Texas reinvigorated him as a filmmaker (the movie, a tense thriller that Jim Thompson fans would appreciate, is terrific). MacLeod Andrews and Evan Dumouchel, stars and producers of They Look Like People (it’s another solid thriller – but this one tackles the intricate bond of friendship), also spent time on BTL to talk about their film.

Wim Wenders Retrospective Launches At IFC Center

A touring retrospective of  director Wim Wenders’ work, which includes 12 of his films (11 of which are 4K and 2K restorations) will premiere at the IFC Center in New York starting August 28. The 15 city tour will  also include stops in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco, Seattle, and Philadelphia. 

“Mega Man Legacy Collection” Goes Digital August 25

Mega Man Legacy Collection hits North America and Europe on August 25 and will be available digitally on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The Nintendo 3DS version is slated for an early 2016 release.

The narrative’s greatest asset, along with Bart the Bear playing the titular character, is its talented cast, which includes James Marsden, Thomas Jane, Piper Perabo, Scott Glenn, and Michaela McManus (recently seen in Aquarius).

Now out on Blu-ray and DVD, Woman In Gold is the true story of Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), who along with lawyer Randy Schoenberg (Ryan Reynolds) attempts to retrieve her family’s prized possessions which were taken by the Nazis. Among these treasured items is Gustav Klimt’s painting Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer I.
