If you’ve ever seen The Pacific or the gone too soon series Rubicon, you’ll know James Badge Dale has leading man potential. Though he’s a solid character actor by trade, The Standoff at Sparrow Creek places him front and center, and for 89 minutes he, along with an equally invested ensemble, deliver a story to remember.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which stars Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp and Jude Law, hits Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and DVD on March 12. Its digital release is set for February 15.
When it was released in 2000, Unbreakable was considered a disappointment to many, although comic book enthusiasts immediately gravitated to its subject matter. The years have seen Unbreakable’s stature immeasurably grow in moviegoers’ eyes, and in the recent Glass premiere Samuel L. Jackson talked about the inevitability of a continuation of the Mr. Glass (Jackson) and David Dunn (Bruce Willis) story.

John Huston and Paul Newman are cinematic icons, so it’s a crying shame that 1972’s The Life And Times of Judge Roy Bean doesn’t get as much love as it deserves. The feature is currently available via Warner Archive, and the images (it went through a 2K restoration) look absolutely clean. As for the five reasons, I love the film . . .
