Now available on Digital, Assassin Club stars Henry Golding (Snake Eyes, Crazy Rich Asians) as Morgan, an elite assassin who discovers the tables have turned. A group of assassins (including Noomi Rapace) have been hired to kill him. Assassin Club director Camille Delamarre (Brick Mansions) talked to Deepest Dream about having Golding as his lead actor and elaborates on his love for Tony Scott’s (Man on Fire, Domino) movies.
Assassin Club also stars Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) as Morgan’s (Henry Golding) mentor Caldwell. Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Gray Man) plays the Inspector who is on Morgan’s trail. Matthew Chuang, whose previous credits include You Won’t Be Alone (which also starred Noomi Rapace) and Blue Bayou, is the cinematographer.
If you are a fan of late filmmaker Tony Scott’s editing style, then Assassin Club is worth a look. As a huge fan of Scott’s movies, I saw that correlation with Assassin Club. Along with expressing his admiration for Scott, Delamarre added that editing is an integral aspect of his filmmaking process.
Delamarre is credited as the chief edtor behind Assassin Club. “Editing is my passion, to be honest,” said Delamarre, who also directed The Transporter Refueled. “This is like my PlayStation. I like to play with my own footage. That’s why I was involved in the editing, because I can’t just stay on my couch or just chair behind the editor.”
