CinemAddicts co-host Bruce Purkey is a fan of Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Pulse, Cure), and the first movie he streamed as a new Criterion Channel member is Cloud.Â
The 124-minute narrative, Kurosawa’s fortieth film, grabbed Purkey’s attention, and he recommends the feature. Check out his review below!

Yoshii (Masaki Suda) is a factory worker quits his job to pursue his side hustle on a full time basis. He sells various items at sizable profits, but his questionable business tactics might catch up to him.
“All of the enemies he’s made in the online world start to have very real world ramifications in a way that I absolutely did not see coming,” said Bruce Purkey. “And that’s why I don’t really want to tell you what’s happens in the second half. Let’s just say it becomes a totally different kind of movie, a totally different kind of genre.”
Cloud hits Blu-ray and DVD (Criterion Collection) February 17. The film is now streaming on Criterion Channel and also features an original interview with Kiyoshi Kurosawa (it will also be available on the physical media release).
