“The Surrender” centers on Barbara (Kate Burton), a grieving mother who hires a mysterious stranger (Neil Sandilands) to bring her dead husband (Vaughn Armstrong) back to life. Colby Minifie co-stars as Barbara’s daughter Megan.

In his review, Bruce Purkey said Burton and Minifie delilver “super solid” performances. Unfortunately, “The Surrender’s” slow burn aesthetic didn’t completely work for him, and he claims the final act “just lays there.” That said, Purkey does give a mild recommendation to “The Surrender,” and you can judge for yourself when it hits Shudder on May 23rd!
