If you are trapped in an armored car in the South come September, then you are bound to sweat. Chock it up to the glory of making movies, and actor Josh Wiggins talked to Deepest Dream about the joys cand challenges of making “Armor.” The first rate ensemble includes Jason Patric, Sylvester Stallone, and Dash Mihok. If you are looking for a straight ahead action thriller with A-level actors, “Armor” should do the trick! Check out my interview with Wiggins below!
“Armor” centers on James (Jason Patric), an armored truck driver who works with his loving son Casey (Josh Wiggins). Their vehicle is ambushed on the road, and father and son are trapped in the armored truck with no apparent escape in sight.
Sylvester Stallone and Dash Mihok are two of the criminals attempt to coax them out of the truck, but James and Casey will not budge. Directed by Justin Routt, “Armor” has a no frills narrative that ultimately won me over. The surprise ending adds a little nice touch to the proceedings. Patric and Wiggins are the heart of the narrative, and they play a believable father and son.
“The biggest thing from watching Jason – he was never afraid to change things on the fly,” said Wiggins, whose previous credits include ‘The Bachelors’ and ‘Mean Dreams.’ “(He would) make a lot of suggestions and try to just really grind out the scene and figure out what works and what’s best for the film. That willingness to grind it out with something really stood out for me . . . It was really just like acting at its most basic form.”
