Geraldine Viswanathan Loves “Honest Nuances” Of The Broken Hearts Gallery

The Broken Hearts Gallery, which marks the feature writing and directing debut of Natalie Krinsky (Red Band Society, Gossip Girl), centers on a young woman’s (Geraldine Viswanathan) innovative and creative way of remembering previous relationships.

After being dumped by her boyfriend and losing her job as an assitant at a New York gallery, Lucy (Miracle Workers’ Geraldine Viswanathan) jumps into a car driven by a dude named Nick (Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery).

 

 

Lucy drunkenly assumes that Nick is her Uber driver, and he drops her off like any good person would do (even though it’s a case of mistaken identity). Nick’s dreams of opening a hotel coincide with Lucy’s interesting idea of using a section of the hotel for a gallery where people leave trinkets of past lovers.

The Broken Hearts Gallery is a romantic comedy that is anchored by Viswanathan’s effervescent and charming spirit. Plus, it’s a perfect movie for our current state of the state.

“At first I was trying to watch prestige, serious things and then very quickly I was like I just want to escape and laugh and get lost in stories about love and New York City,” said Viswanathan. “Just reminisce on life as we used to know it and we kind of took it for granted. This movie is such a celebration of friendship and love and community. It feels so alive.”
