Premiering December 14 on SyFy, Childhood’s End centers on a supposedly peaceful invasion of Earth by the Overlords, an alien race led by a mysterious ambassador named Karellen (Charles Dance). The six-hour miniseries, based on Arthur C. Clarke’s novel, also stars Mike Vogel and Daisy Betts.

Betts has had starred in her share of refreshingly out of the box TV shows like the underrated Persons Unknown and Last Resort (both programs, though short-lived, offer up first rate and adrenaline driven narratives). Along with her well received run on Chicago Fire as conflicted firefighter Rebecca Jones, Betts has carved out a career playing tough skinned characters.
During yesterday’s TCA interviews to promote Childhood’s End, Betts talked about how her character in the SyFy miniseries differs from her previous roles. Check out the video below:
Childhood’s End co-stars Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Emmy award nominated filmmaker Nick Hurran directs the miniseries.
