You’re Dating A Narcissist! centers on Judy (Marisa Tomei), a New York psychologist who travels to Los Angeles with her best friend Diane (Sherry Cola) for a very special mission. The psychologist’s daughter Eva (Ciara Bravo) is in love with a charming doctor named Theo (Marco Pigossi). Judy believes Theo is a narcissist and she is bent on stopping their impending wedding! Cola talked to Deepest Dream about her latest film, which gave her the chance to bond with Tomei.

Directed and co-written by Ann Marie Allison, You’re Dating A Narcisssist! started shooting back in 2023. “It’s been a while and she and I have kept in touch,” said Sherry Cola, who initially met Tomei, co-star Ciara Bravo and director/co-writer Ann Marie Allison over lunch. “We definitely just have this love for each other because we hit it off right off the bat. The friendship between Diane and Judy feels so legit on the screen because Marisa and I had that magic in real life.”

Check out our review (and recommend) of You’re Dating Narcissist on CinemAddicts:

In our CinemAddicts review, co-host Eric Holmes cited Cola as the best thing about the romantic comedy (he, of course, also loved Tomei in the flick). Cola has received her share of accolades over the years, and whether its success on series work (Good Trouble) or in cinema (Joy Ride), Cola has carved out a successful and busy career.

“I’m still pinching myself that it’s happening,” said Cola, who gives props to such actors as Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, and Jackie Chan. ” I was born in Shanghai, China. I’m an immigrant. The fact that I’ve ever even been on a billboard feels like a fever dream, so none of this will ever get old because I also feel like with representation, we’re still catching up. There’s been progress, but we’re still not necessarily prioritized, in the Asian space, in the queer space, all of the above.”
