Low Tide centers on several teenage boys (Keean Johnson, Alex Neustaedter, Daniel Zolghadri) who rob houses from out-of-towners on the Jersey Shore. When Alan’s (Johnson) younger brother Peter (Jaeden Martell) stumbles on a stash of gold coins during one of their excursions, all bets are off when greed and betrayal enter the picture. Alex Neustaedter had my attention several years back after his memorable performance in the Meg Ryan directed feature Ithaca, and in the interview he talked about that experience as well as his time on Low Tide.

Before I launch into a review of Nicolas Cage’s latest film A Score To Settle, please remember that I am a pretty big Cage fan. Nothing he can do is absolutely wrong in my eyes, and even though it has its flaws, A Score To Settle is recommended (with a few caveats).

Does anyone have a more night and day career than Adam Sandler? This year he came out with Murder Mystery, a Netflix comedy that I’m assuming is in line with most of other Sandler’s features (btw I’m a Sandler fan). Today we see the trailer debut of Uncut Gems, the latest film that delivers the critically acclaimed version of “The Waterboy.” Check it out below!

I’m so old that I remember when Jimmy Smits was also carving out a movie career (anyone remember Old Gringo?) during is L.A. Law days. He’s seen his share of films, but television (The West Wing, NYPD Blue, Sons of Anarchy) has been his bread and butter. The Memphis based Bluff City Law has a ton of promise, and if you’re into character driven procedurals, give the pilot a sample taste!
