‘Belly’ Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Blu-ray, Ultra HD, and Digital Release

Belly, headlined by Nas and DMX, will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital on January 23, 2023. Best Buy will have an exclusive 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Digital SteelBook release for $27.99 (the 4K Ultra HD version retails everywhere for $22.99).

Belly centers on Tommy (DMX) a gang leader who tries to expand his business by dealing a new form of heroin. Nas stars as Tommy’s best friend Sincere who is attempting to excape the criminal life now that he has a baby daughter. Pursued by rival gangs and the police, these friends are doing whatever it takes to survive another day.

The ensemble cast includes Taral Hicks, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and Method Man. Special features on the Steelbook edition include audio commentary with writer/director Hype Williams, the featurette “Spoken Word” (Blu-ray only), deleted scene (Blu-ray only) and the “Grand Finale” Music Video (Blu-ray only).

I requested a Blu-ray for coverage and will be reviewing come January. This will be my first time watching the movie, althought I did purchase the soundtrack CD back in the day and continue to play this choice track:
