Night of the Animated Dead, an animated recreation of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, hits Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on October 5. The feature arrives on Digital September 21.

Night of the Animated Dead has siblings Barbara (Katherine Isabelle) and Johnny (Jimmi Simpson) visiting their father’s grave in a Pennsylvania cemetary. Their mourning moment is ruined by attacking zombies, and the siblings take shelter in a farmhouse. Stranded motorist Ben (Dulé Hill) and four survivors found in the cellar are the only other humans available to fight this oncoming onslaught!

The ensemble also includes Katee Sackhoff (The Mandalorian, Battlestar Galactica) as Judy, Will Sasso as Sheriff McClelland, Hill’s Psych co-star James Roday Rodriguez as Tom, and Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing) as Helen Cooper.

Released in 1968, Night of the Living Dead was directed by George A. Romero (he co-wrote the script with John A. Russo). Jason Axinn directed Night of the Animated Dead.

Blu-ray and DVD extras includes “Making of the Animated Dead,” a featurette with Axinn and producer Michael Luisi discussing who they honored the classic with their animated remake. Scene breakdowns and booth recordings are also included in the segment.
