Horror comedy is a hybrid genre that isn’t as prevalent these days, but add Blood Paradise into that delicious cinematic stew. The feature hits Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD July 16 via Artsploitation Films. Details are below!

After her latest novel bombs, bestselling crime writer Robin Richards (Andréa Winter) is sent to the Swedish countryside for a bit of rest and relaxation. A group of eccentric and possibly dangerous characters chros her path, and Robin soon learns that farm life can be hazardous to one’s health.
Blood Paradise, which is being described as “Green Acres as directed by Jordan Peele” is written and directed by Patrick von Barkenberg. Special features on the Blu-ray and DVD editions include several deleted scenes (they sequences are named “Blood Sex Dream,” “Fly,” “Latex Dreams,” “Tractor and Sheep”) and two music videos (“Dreamer” and “You and Me”).
Even amidst its low budget aesthetic, the picture has some memorable images, and I like the offering of “coffee and buns” to the writer to at the end of the trailer. This movie doesn’t take itself seriously and it may have its share of chills, so this may be worth a watch. I’ll be requesting a review copy of this movie and will report back with my thoughts!!
