If you want to see a movie that is not part of the weekly release schedule, the Philadelphia Film Festival has a Horror Comedy which might appeal to your tastes. Dead Giveaway, directed and written by Ian Kimble, is (according to CinemAddicts host Eric Holmes) “an incredible amount of fun.” The movie screens this Sunday at Film Society East (8 pm), and for more details check out our interview with Kimble!

Jill (Ruby Modine) wakes up hungry and hungover. To top it off, she has a murdered stranger in her bed. Her best friend Lia (Mikaela Hoover) shows up and offers to help her clean up the crime scene, as long as they can make it to brunch on time.

Kimble cited the performances of Modine and Hoover as one of his film’s strenghts. “Their relationship and chemistry together is really good,” said Kimbel. “I don’t think the movie works as well without that kind of chemistry. They’re wonderful and lthey definitely hit it off the second they both came into town and met. (Ruby and Mikaela were) both just absolute sweethearts and wonderful to work with.”
