I woke up this morning to one of the most amusing press releases I’ve seen in years. Hipster Attack is just around around the corner, and I’m loving the game’s original approach to the well worn Tower Defense genre.
It’s been nearly five years since I played the first rate Steampunk Tower on iOS, and the great news is Steampunk Tower 2 is hitting that platform, Android, and PC come April (exact date TBD).
Rome: Total War, developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA for Windows PC, is now headed to iPad via Feral Interactive this fall. The strategy title will enable iOS gamers to embark on hours of gameplay that was previously reserved for desktop players (Feral Interactive also published the Mac version).
Music and aliens is an interesting mash-up, and the game LOUD on Planet X attempts to merge both worlds, enabling gamers to play as CHVRCHES, Little Dragon, Tegan and Sara, Metric, Shad, Purity Ring and a myriad of other artists. Starting today the game is discounted 50% on PSN, Steam and Humble throughout July. For iOS and Android gamers, the price is discounted at $2.99.
TinyCo and Marvel’s game Marvel Avengers Academy is now available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play, and to whet gamers’ appetites the Guardians of the Galaxy are now a part of the title.
If you have an insatiable appetite for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (TFA) and watching the movie numerous times just won’t do, then Star Wars: Card Trader might just do the trick. Topps has launched a big update for the digital trading card app (which is available on iOS and Android) in conjunction with TFA’s nationwide release.
Don’t let the cutesy graphics and occasional humor fool you, Pocket Troops is a multi-layered strategic war game that, especially since it’s free-to-play, is worth a look. I’ve devoted about four hours of gameplay to this iOS title, and my love for Pocket Troops hasn’t dissipated.
Tim Kring’s beloved Heroes universe can currently be seen Thursday nights on NBC with Heroes Reborn and now mobile and tablet gamers can also play the just released Heroes Reborn: Enigma by downloading the app on Apple Store and Google Play. Kring’s Imperative Entertainment and Phosphor Games teamed up for the new title.
