‘Homecoming’ Creators Eli Horowitz And Micah Bloomberg Take Audio World Into Amazon Experience

Full disclosure – I’m a huge fan of the podcast Homecoming and thankfully the Amazon series didn’t disappoint. Below is my interview with show creators Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg as they discuss taking their program from an audio world to a distinctly visual one (the series has a distinct, Hitchcockian and Brian De Palma-esque flair).

‘Homecoming’ Review: Hitchcockian Flair Dominates Riveting And Resonant Thriller

Audio enthusiasts are probably familiar with Homeland, the critically acclaimed podcast series featuring the voices of Catherine Keener, Oscar Isaac, and David Schwimmer. That story is now a Julia Roberts headlined series, where the visual word takes a bigger stage over the pod’s immersive soundscapes. But not to worry, this freshman series carves its own space in Heidi Bergman’s  expansive and all too unpredictable world.

Rami Malek Reflects on “The Master” Journey With Paul Thomas Anderson

The third episode of Mr. Robota conspiracy and pulse pounding series headlined by Rami Malek, airs tonight on USA Network (10 pm et/pt), and if you’re an newbie to Malek’s diverse body of work, I’d suggest taking a look at director Paul Thomas Anderson’s ambitious 2012 drama The Master.

The good news for actress Portia Doubleday is that the top-notch pilot for Mr. Robot is a signal of good things to come for the promising show (she’s a white collar co-worker/childhood friend of the series’ protagonist, who’s played by Rami Malek). In real life, however, Doubleday had first-hand experience of being hacked.

VIDEO: Rami Malek & Christian Slater Talk “Mr. Robot” & Paranoia

One show I have high expectations for, especially after watching the pilot, is the freshman thriller/drama Mr. Robot. The series centers on Elliot (an effectively paranoid yet inquisitive Rami Malek), a talented programmer who joins a hacker group (led by Christian Slater) that’s out to take down the firm he’s tasked to protect (he’s a security engineer during the day).
