One of the takeaways from tonight’s pilot episode of The Player is that amidst all the action driven moments lies a propulsive and twist driven story that could keep viewers glued to the screen. One of the show’s more mysterious characters is Cassandra (Charity Wakefield) a tech savvy collaborator of Mr. Johnson (Wesley Snipes) who keeps her motives close to the vest.
Whether it’s playing Nino Brown (New Jack City) or Blade, Wesley Snipes knows how to channel his inner tough guy, and that skill set is on display with the new TV series The Player.
Charity Wakefield, last seen in the acclaimed series Wolf Hall as Mary Boleyn, takes on an entirely different world with the Las Vegas set action series The Player. The story centers on Alex (Philip Winchester), an ex-military operative who, becomes a pawn in a high stakes betting game that centers on whether or not a crime will transpire. Wakefield is Cassandra, a tech genius who aids Alex in his attempts to thwart these heinous activities.
