London based Indian filmmaker Karan Kandhari makes her feature directing debut with “Sister Midnight,” The narrative centers on Uma (Radhika Apte), a small-town woman who arrives in Mumbai and finds herself frustrated in the role of a housewife. She goes against the grain and decides to forge her own path.

The feature, which world premiered at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight, currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%. It also won the award for Best Film in the Next Wave section at Fantastic Fest.
