Somewhere in Queens centers on Leo Russo (Ray Romano), a blue collar worker in Queens, New York who is part of a close knit family and neighborhood friends. His wife Angela (Laurie Metcalf) is shy and his son “Sticks” (Jacob Ward) is far from garrulous. Sticks’ basketball talents may lead him to a college life outside of Queens, which Leo desperately wants. Tony Lo Bianco and Sebastian Maniscalco are Leo’s father and brother, and they work together on the family construction business.

Eric Holmes said he cried “happy tears” after watching Somewhere in Queens. “This is kind of one of those meat and potatoes, family comedy/dramedy sort of movies that you don’t get a ton of anymore,” said Bruce Purkey. “But when they are done pretty well, they’re kind of one of those movies you can settle into. And just enjoy the ride. And I feel for me it works that way.”
