Samuel L. Jackson stars in Damaged as Dan Lawson, a Chicago police detective who heads to Scotland. This is not a vacation, as Lawson teams with the local authorities to track down a serial killer who may have committed similar crimes in the Windy City. Vincent Cassell (Westworld), John Hannah (Sliding Doors), and Gianni Capaldi (A Day to Die) round out the ensemble.
The trailer suggests the killer might be motivated into sending the victims to the other side. Directed by Terry McDonough, Damaged looks like a by the numbers thriller that one may have seen before. That said, I’m a total sucker for this genre. Kate Dickie, who delivered memorable performances in Matriarch and The Witch, also stars in Damaged, so I’m definintely on board.
Damaged hits theaters, On Demand and Digital April 12.
