Kim (Lisa Sheridan, memorable in the short-lived TV series called Invasion) and her 11-year-old son Brody (Jonah Beres) movie into her estranged father’s domicile. This attempt at family bonding takes a backseat after a disemboweled deer and the family dog’s deformed puppies point to something being amiss. Along with the discovery of the aforementioned mutated frogs at a rural Minnesota area, these events ramp up a notch with the discovery of two mutilated bodies.

Are these deformities and killings the work of Mother Nature, an environmental catastrophe, or an actual human being? Wrestling star John Hennigan and Stephen Tobolowsky (an absolutely wonderful character actor who’s work includes Deadwood and Stephen Tobolowsky’s Birthday Party) round out the cast. James Ojala, a special effects vet (Thor, Tron: Legacy) makes his directing debut.

Carlos Alazraqui, John Hennigan, and Justen Overlander in Strange Nature.
