No, that scary looking, demon like kid isn’t me heading to Cold Cockle Productions to scare Anderson, it’s an image from this upcoming horror/thriller Don’t Sleep. Before you turn your head away from this seemingly low budget flick, it features a solid cast (The Princess Bride’s Cary Elwes, The Sopranos vet Drea de Matteo, and Crossing Jordan’s Jill Hennessy). Details on the flick, as well as the trailer, is found after the jump!

Don't Sleep
Dominic Sherwood, Charlbi Dean, and Alex Carter in “Don’t Sleep.”

The narrative centers on Zach (Dominic Sherwood) and Shawn (Charlbi Dean), a beautiful young couple who move into a cottage owned by Jo (de Matteo)  and Vincent Marino (Alex Carter), Their seemingly halcyon existence is disrupted when Zach (at least from what I gathered in the trailer) remembers the horrors of his forgotten childhood. The nightmare spreads to Shawn who sees a hanged man (or is it some creature) atop a tree. Elwes apparently plays a therapist who previously treated Zach, and I’m gathering that Hennessy, who I hope has a bigger role in this, plays his mother.

Alex Rocco in “Don’t Sleep”

Since Alex Rocco, the character actor best known as Moe Greene from The Godfather, died in 2015, this flick has been in the can for a couple of years. That being said, I’m going to give this movie a go and report back on the film, and I might even mention it on the next CinemAddicts episode.
