Christopher Nolan’s IMAX-shot Oppenheimer hits theaters July 21, and even though it’s July, maybe Oscar season has come early for this movie. Cillian Murphy has starred in several Nolan movies, and now he is front and center as J. Robert Oppenheimer. The Peaky Blinders star talked about being “blown away” by the entire experience.

Cillian Murphy headlines a formidable cast which includes Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Kenneth Branagh, and Rami Malek.

“It’s one of the greatest ensembles, certainly modern ensembles that Chris has put together,” said Murphy. “But that just shows you everybody wants to work with Chris. These actors will turn up because they love his movies and he’s an incredible director.”

The first frame of the movie that Murphy saw was the Oppenheimer trailer. Since Nolan shoots with film cameras, there is no video village, which Murphy prefers.
