X Reunite With A “Timely” ‘Alphabetland’ Release

It’s been 35 years since X have released an album, but today marks the release of their new effort Alphabetland via Bandcamp.
Alphabetland is now available via Bandcamp

The foursome began their Alphabetland collaboration in November 2018, and it was the first time they had come together to record new material since 1985’s Aint’ Love Grand. In a span of two days, five songs were recorded with the aid of producer Rob Schnapf. On January 2020 the band came back to the studio to finish the album as they recoreded seven more original tracks.

“When your heart is broken you think evey song is about that,” said John Doe. “These songs were written in the last 18 months & it blows my mind how timely they are. We all want our family, friends & fans to hear our records as soon as it’s finished. This time we could do that. Thanks to Fat Possum & our audience.”

Tour plans for this year are currently on hold until the “stay at home” restrictions are lifted. Sunday, April 26 marks the 40th anniversary of their seminal album Los Angeles.
