Kyle Gallner (Dinner in America, Smile) and Holland Roden (Teen Wolf) star in the psychological thriller Mother, May I?. Although Chris Mulkey is part of the ensemble, Mother May I? looks to be a two-hander. The trailer shows Gallner and Roden performing to the hilt, and hopefully this indie feature gets under our skin!
Mother, May I? marks the feature debut from writer/director Laurence Vannicelli. Emmett (Kyle Gallner) and Anya (Holland Roden) inherit his estranged mother’s house. This inheritance comes with a price, as Anya starts to act more like Emmett’s mother as the days grow long.
Is Emmett imaging Anya’s behavior, or is Anya possessed by the mother’s spirit?
We at the CinemAddicts crew love Gallner’s work. Anderson Cowan cites Dinner in America as his favorite movie in the past 20 years. I also love Dinner in America, Smile, and Band of Robbers. Bruce Purkey and Eric Holmes also praised Dinner in America.
I am crossing my fingers that Mother, May I? hits the target, and it looks promising. Let us know your thoughts on the Mother, May I? trailer!
Check out Mother, May I? in theaters, digital and VOD July 21 via Dark Sky Films.
