The Diary of a Teenage Girl, a drama which featured a star making turn from actress Bel Powley, hits Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on January 19.

The 1976 narrative, based on Phoebe Gloeckner’s novel, centers on Minnie Goetz (Powley), a San Francisco based teenager who enters a love affair with her mom’s (Kristen Wiig) slacker boyfriend (Alexander Skarsgård). Through this heartbreaking union, Minnie finds her voice as an artist and a young woman. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, The Diary of a Teenage Girl marks the feature directing debut of Marielle Heller.

Special features on the Blu-ray and DVD include:

  1. Deleted scenes
  2. The featurette “Marielle’s Journey: Bringing The Diary to Life”
  3. LA Film Festival Q&A with Bel Powley, Alexander Skarsgård, and Marielle Heller
  4. Commentary with the cast and director Marielle Heller
