Los Angeles is not just La La Land for director Damien Chazelle – it’s Babylon! Set in 1920s Sin City, this epic tale is headlined by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva (Narcos: Mexico). Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!
Babylon, penned by Damien Chazelle, is described as “a tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess.” Towards the end of the trailer, Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie) offers to fight a snake, proving that anything can happen at a Hollywood party!
The ensemble cast includes Jean Smart, Lukas Haas, Tobey Maguire, Katherine Waterston, Samara Weaving, Jovan Adepo, Olivia Wilde, and Li Jun Li. The award winning La La Land was a love letter to Los Angeles and such musicials as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. It will be interesting to see how much D.W. Griffith and/or Cecil B. Demille’s aesthetic influences Babylon.
