“Lighting in a bottle” is a perfect description for Dinner In America. Kyle Gallner talked to Deepest Dream about what made this such a special feature for the cast and crew. Find Your Film co-host Bruce Purkey believes this movie will reach cult status sooner than later, and my biased mission is to get as many people as possible to see the feature. Gallner video interview is below!
I’m too lazy and untalented to create a huge listicle on why one should give Dinner in America a shot, so let’s head straight to the source.
“You get that kind of a lighting in a bottle thing,” said Gallner, whose previous credits include Band of Robbers and The Finest Hours. “Adam Rehmeier (writer/director) wrote something close to him. It meant a lot to him. These characers meant a lot to him. You can feel that on the page.”
We reviewed Dinner in America on Find Your Film (discussion begins at 33:12):
Dinner in America centers on Simon (Kyle Gallner), a punk rocker in trouble with the law. Simon strikes a friendship with fellow outcast Patty (Emily Skeggs) and the pair make the best of it in their respective suburban wasteland. Co-starring Lea Thompson, Hannah Marks, Pat Healy, and Mary Lynn Rajskub, Dinner in America hits Digital and On Demand Tuesday, June 7.
