Alice Braga (I Am Legend), recently seen opposite Simon Pegg in the Kill Me Three Times, will topline the upcoming USA Network series Queen of the South. Based on the best seller La Reina Del Sur, the show received a 13-episode order.

Teaming up with a figure from her past, Mendoza is determined to take down the head of the drug trafficking ring that also has her in their sights.

Joshua John Miller (“The Final Girls“) and M.A. Fortin penned the pilot, which is being directed by Charlotte Sieling (a showrunner has yet to be announced).
The series is slated for a 2016 debut.
